About this Event

Get Moving. Meet Gay Men. Make Friends.

Get Moving. Meet Gay Men. Make Friends.

This Friend of Dorothy event is about bringing gay men together in real life to move, laugh and build genuine friendships.

Get ready for a fun, high-energy aerobics class set to a soundtrack of 90s club classics and anthems. Led by instructor Roger Lewis, the session is designed to get your heart pumping while keeping things playful, upbeat and seriously enjoyable.

Across the class you’ll work through a mix of dynamic moves that improve coordination, endurance and overall fitness, with plenty of toning and calorie burning along the way. It’s a proper workout, but nobody’s counting reps or judging the grapevine.

All fitness levels are welcome. Moves can be taken up or down a notch, so whether you’re a gym regular or haven’t broken a sweat since school PE, you’ll fit right in.

Like all FOD events, this isn’t just about the workout. It’s about creating spaces where gay men can meet, connect and feel part of a community outside of the usual nightlife scene. It’s easy to chat to the people around you when you’re all flailing to the same Spice Girls track.

Fancy dress is fully encouraged. Think shell suits, crop tops, bucket hats and scrunchies, or just come in your usual gym kit.

What to bring: comfortable workout clothes, trainers and a water bottle.

No experience necessary, just bring your energy.

Come for the workout.
Stay for the conversation.
Leave sweaty, smiling and a little more connected.

Scared to come alone?

Most of our guys showed up solo too

It's the most common worry we hear. Here's how we make sure first-timers leave feeling like they belong.

1

You won't be the only solo guy

More than 60% of attendees come alone. The room is built for it.

2

We greet you at the door

Tell us it's your first time and we'll introduce you to people right away.

3

The activity does the work

You don't have to make small talk from cold.

4

Leave when you want

Stay for the social or head home early. Both are normal.

Finally a gay event where I felt seen

I'm 47 and most gay events make me feel ancient. This one had every type of guy — single, coupled, all ages.

My first gay event ever

Was so nervous to come alone. Within 10 minutes someone introduced themselves at the bar.

Worth every penny (which is barely any)

£10 for a line-up that would cost £40 anywhere else, plus a drink and a gift bag.
