Friend of Dorothy started with a simple, honest question: which supplements will actually help us live a better life? Not products adapted from straight wellness brands. Not things that ignore who we are. Ours — built from the inside out.

Oliver and Azamat were married for seven years. They have a daughter they now co-parent. They got divorced four years ago. Then — out of that chapter ending — they built something neither could have created alone. A brand that puts gay men first. In every product, every conversation, every decision.

What started as three supplement products is now a global brand trusted by over 100,000 customers across the US and UK — with a podcast, community events, and the UK's first gay-focused digital pharmacy.

Going global — US launch & Amazon

Six months in, Friend of Dorothy launched in the United States — bringing the brand to a huge and underserved market. Simultaneously, products went live on Amazon US and Amazon UK, making the range accessible to hundreds of thousands of new customers overnight. Azamat joined full-time and the product range expanded into new categories: Muscle Creatine Gummies, Party Recovery, and more.

We wanted to go further than products. The Friend of Dorothy Podcast brought genuine experts to the community — NHS GPs, nutritionists, sex therapists, fitness coaches, relationship experts. Real conversations about the things gay men rarely get to hear discussed openly. No judgement. No filter.

A realisation about loneliness

The more we spoke to our community — through the podcast, through reviews, through thousands of messages — the more clearly one theme emerged. Gay men are lonely. Not for lack of wanting connection. For lack of spaces genuinely built around them. That realisation changed our direction.
