How Long Should You Really Last?
Eight quick questions to find out whether your stamina goals come from real life, or from a studio in the Valley.
Takes about 90 seconds. No judgement, just facts.
The reality check
If you've been measuring yourself against that last number, you've been failing a test nobody real has ever passed.
If you want to last longer anyway
- Edge on your own first. Get close, stop, breathe, repeat. It teaches your body where the point of no return actually is.
- Train your pelvic floor. Kegels and, just as important, learning to relax it. A clenched pelvic floor speeds you up.
- Slow the breathing. Fast shallow breaths tell your body to hurry. Long exhales do the opposite.
- Change position or pace before you hit the edge, not after.
- Go easy on the booze and skip the pre-hookup porn. Both mess with your baseline.
- Talk to a clinician if you regularly finish in under a minute or two and it's getting to you. There are proper treatments, and it's a lot more common than anyone admits.
