About this Event

Fairytale photography, queer creativity and a few new faces to explore it with.

Fancy a bit of art, a little escapism and some new faces?

Join Friend of Dorothy as we head to Tim Walker's Fairyland: Love and Legends, a magical world of photography, fantasy, fashion and storytelling from one of the most imaginative photographers around.

Expect extraordinary imagery, a celebration of queer creativity and plenty to talk about along the way.

We'll explore the exhibition together at a relaxed pace, giving everyone the chance to chat, share their thoughts and get to know each other. No art knowledge required, and absolutely no need to bring a friend!

Whether you're coming for the photography, the company or just fancy doing something different, everyone's welcome.

Come on your own, leave knowing a few more people.

Scared to come alone?

Most of our guys showed up solo too

It's the most common worry we hear. Here's how we make sure first-timers leave feeling like they belong.

1

You won't be the only solo guy

More than 60% of attendees come alone. The room is built for it.

2

We greet you at the door

Tell us it's your first time and we'll introduce you to people right away.

3

The activity does the work

You don't have to make small talk from cold.

4

Leave when you want

Stay for the social or head home early. Both are normal.

Finally a gay event where I felt seen

I'm 47 and most gay events make me feel ancient. This one had every type of guy — single, coupled, all ages.

My first gay event ever

Was so nervous to come alone. Within 10 minutes someone introduced themselves at the bar.

Worth every penny (which is barely any)

£10 for a line-up that would cost £40 anywhere else, plus a drink and a gift bag.
